MACHINE HIRE WAREHOUSE INSTALLATION
Using drainage tiles where a conventional warehouse floor wasn't the best fit.
The requirement for this machine hire warehouse wasn't really to replace the whole floor. The client wanted specific areas where his machinery could be stored off the existing concrete.
For most warehouse applications, we'd look at Dura Tile. Its 6.2 mm thickness provides a durable, reliable and easy-to-maintain surface. Here, however, the client had a different requirement and specifically chose Dura Drain.
The 16 mm raised tiles were used as loose-laid sections beneath groups of machinery. This worked particularly well because the equipment could be washed down while remaining raised above the floor, allowing water and cleaning chemicals to drain away. The open underside also allows air to circulate around the equipment as it dries.
The tiles provided the structural support needed for the machinery while also giving the warehouse a simple way to define and organise storage areas.
For this particular application, Dura Drain turned out to be a very practical choice. Dura Tile would also have worked well, but the drainage capability of Dura Drain made it the better option for the way this client uses the space.
Sometimes the best flooring solution isn't about covering the whole floor, it's about putting the right surface exactly where it's needed.
